Biography：Professor Dacheng Tao is a Professor of Computer Science in the School of Computer Science at The University of Sydney. He has significantly contributed to national and international AI technology, systems development and knowledge. His research results have expounded in one monograph, as well as more than 500 publications in prestigious journals and prominent conferences, with several best paper awards—such as: the best theory/algorithm paper runner up award in the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) International Conference on Data Mining (ICDM) 2007; the best student paper award in IEEE ICDM 2013; the 2014 ICDM 10-year highest-impact paper award; and the 2017 IEEE Signal Processing Society Best Paper Award. In 2015–2016, Professor Tao was ranked as a Highly Cited Researcher for Engineering and Computer Science by Thomas Reuters. Professor Tao received the 2015 Australian Scopus-Eureka Prize and the ACS Gold Disruptor Award. He is a Fellow of the IEEE, Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), Optical Society of America, International Association of Pattern Recognition and SPIE (the international society for optics and photonics). He was also awarded an 2017 ARC Australian Laureate Fellowship.
