Peer Bork, Strategic Head of Bioinformatics at EMBL Heidelberg since 2011, group leader in the Molecular Medicine Partnership Unit, and ERC Advanced Investigator. He has lead a number of internationally renowned genome and metagenome projects, including the Human Genome Project, Mouse Genome Project, Yeast Proteome Project, MetaHit, Human Microbe Project and Tara Ocean Project and so on. He has published more than 600 journal papers, with over 70 of them published in top journals such as Cell, Nature and Science.
