Academic Mobility Scheme

The University of Sydney (USyd) and Fudan University (Fudan) have formed a strategic partnership to foster deep collaborations in research and education. The Brain and Intelligence Science Alliance (BISA) has been established as a platform to raise the research impact of both universities through inter-disciplinary translational research in the fields related to data science, neuroscience and intelligence. The ultimate goal of BISA is to train research leaders, advance technology innovation and scientific research, and to secure practical applications for science and technology. The Universities have set up an alliance fund to support collaborative activities including, but not limited to, flagship research programs, partnership collaborations awards, academics and student mobility programs, ethics projects and workshops and forums.

Funded by the USyd Office of Global Engagement,the Brain and Intelligence Science Alliance Academic Mobility Schemeaims to support PhD students, postdoctoral researchers and academic staff from USyd to visit Fudan to take part in academic exchange activities. Successful applicants are expected to develop high-impact joint research and educational proposal with Fudan academics in compatible areas, improve research skills and competence and foster academic links and collaborations. Preference will be given to proposals that align with strategic priorities of the University, faculties and BISA and have strong potential for tangible research outcomes and societal impact.

In this round, up to 10 proposals will be funded.Each proposal will receive up to AUD $6,000 from the Office of Global Engagement.Proposals which include Faculty/School co-funding will be viewed favourably.
